The Brighton Ski & Snowboard School offers quality instruction by some of the best PSIA certified instructors in Utah. The school is located directly behind the Brighton Center on the ground level of the Alpine Rose Lodge and offers lessons all season long. Whether you’re learning how to ski or snowboard for the first time, looking for some tips to ski the most challenging terrain, or just want to brush up on your skills a bit, the Brighton Ski & Snowboard School offers a wide variety of programs in addition to group and private lessons for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. Listed below are some of the instruction packages available.

Private Lessons
Private ski and snowboard lessons for all skill levels may be arranged with the instructor of your choice. Reservations are usually required and rates vary.

Group Lessons
Group lessons are offered for both beginner and expert skiers and snowboarders. Lessons are held daily and do not require pre-registration. Each lesson lasts one hour for one person and two hours for 2-20 people. Lessons meet daily at 9:45am and 1:15pm.

The Adult Parallel Workshops
This three-week program, usually offered in December, caters to the needs of two distinct groups of parallel skiers. The Parallel Basics class focuses on tuning up the parallel technique while the Breaking the Expert Barrier class helps individuals master advanced terrain and conditions. Participants in this full-day workshop receive a full-day lift pass each lesson day, the same certified instructor each week, and lunch on each lesson day.

The Senior Workshop
We love our seniors and for those seniors 50+ this is an excellent workshop that focuses on snow conditions, terrain, weather, physical conditioning, equipment needs and motivation as they relate to older skiers. This is a three day workshop, offered in December and January, that includes a light brunch the first day, lift tickets, the same certified instructor each week, and a social following the last class. Each lesson lasts from 9:30am - 12pm.

The Telemark Workshop
Work on your backcountry skills in a non-threatening environment. This is a three-week program that helps free-heel skiers develop the original turn in various conditions. This workshop includes a light brunch the first morning of the workshop, a social following the last class and a full-day lift ticket each lesson day. Sessions are offered in December, January/February, and April. Sessions take place from 9:30am - 12pm.

The Women’s Workshop
Because of the demand for this workshop, classes are held several times throughout the year. The Women’s Workshop focuses on specific issues regarding equipment, motivation and physiology for Women. Brighton’s women instructors are trained to provide professional instruction in skill development for novice through advanced skiers. This workshop includes a light brunch the first morning of the class, a social following the last class and a full-day lift pass each of the four lesson days. Each lesson is from 9:30am - 12pm with sessions available in December, January, February and March.

The Children’s Workshop
Kinderski/Young Rider gives children a great way to explore Brighton according to his or her own ability level. Classes are limited to six or less in an effort to provide children with the extra special attention that ensures an enjoyable day of skiing or snowboarding. The new Kinderski/Young Rider facility caters to children and their unique learning needs by offering child sized tables, chairs, restrooms, youthful decor and a mirrored wall for better dry land instruction. Kinderski/Young Rider is appropriate for children age 4-7 at any ability level. All of the Kinderski/Young Rider instructors must be at intermediate adult teaching level before they are even eligible to teach Kinderski/Young Rider.
