:: Description and Basic Information ::
Located in the Wasatch Mountains just 35 miles from the Salt Lake International Airport, Deer Valley is highly revered among ski vacationers for its groomed mountain terrain, plush lodging and reputable restaurants. The town of Park City (where Deer Valley is located) has a rich frontier history and culture dating back to the days when it was a mining town. Today, Park City’s Main Street is full of charming restaurants, specialty shops, art galleries, and historic sites, making nearby Deer Valley that much more of an enriching vacation destination.

During the winter, visitors will no doubt want to try their hand at the excellent downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, bob sledding, luge, ski jumping, ice skating, snowshoeing, snow tubing, sleigh rides and more that make Deer Valley one of the top winter resorts in the country. Take note, however, that Deer Valley does not permit snowboarding at the mountain resort. Summer activities include mountain biking, golf, horseback riding, concerts, hot air balloon rides, tennis, fly-fishing, boating, windsurfing, hiking, and roller-blading.

The Deer Valley Resort is comprised of four mountain peaks. With an elevation of 8,400 feet, Bald Eagle Mountain offers great terrain for beginner and intermediate skiers. First-time skiers will appreciate the separate, protected beginners' area known as Wide West, accessed by two chairlifts, Burns and Snowflake. The ski area in the real estate development of Deer Crest is also accessible via Little Stick or Navigator ski runs or by catching the Jordanelle Express Gondola, located at the Mayflower/Deer Crest entrance on Hwy 40. Bald Eagle Mountain will also serve as the venue for Deer Valley's 2002 Olympic Games events—Champion, site of the freestyle mogul competition; Know You Don't, site of the slalom events; and White Owl, site of the freestyle aerial events.

With an elevation of 9,400 feet, Bald Mountain offers intermediate and challenging skiing along with great views. Strong skiers in search of steeper, ungroomed trails and Utah's famous light powder will be rewarded on numerous runs in the Sultan and Mayflower areas.

With an elevation of 9,100 feet, Flagstaff Mountain offers intermediate and beginner ski trails, in addition to extensive gladed areas and access to Ontario Bowl. And peaking at 9,570 feet, Empire Canyon offers skiing for all abilities with our family ski area, intermediate terrain and some of the most advanced skiing at Deer Valley, including eight chutes and three bowls.

As the premier lodging company of Park City, Deer Valley properties are screened to ensure a high level of quality, with each room uniquely designed to provide a variety of comforts. Two main lodges - The Chateaux and The Lodges at Deer Valley – house the majority of their guests. Also available is a large selection of condos with room for both small and large groups. For more detailed lodging information, visit our Lodging page. For a complete listing of their condos, visit www.deervalleylodging.com. From heated towel racks in your room to valets who carry your skis from your car to the ski lift, Deer Valley lodging holds a reputation of quality that has set many standards in the ski resort industry.

The reputation of Deer Valley food services is among the highest in Utah. Several banquet rooms are available throughout Deer Valley to fit any size group. Or if you prefer, Deer Valley will cater a meal at your condo instead of a formal meeting room. In addition, a variety of restaurants for individual or group dining are also accessible along Park City’s Main Street. A complete banquet menu or a list of other restaurants in the area is available from your representative. No matter what, be sure to get a taste of the offerings at the Seafood Buffet, located just down the street from The Lodges At Deer Valley—you and your taste buds will be amazed.

Deer Valley meeting rooms are designed to balance aesthetics with practical function, complete with a conference staff readily available. Their meeting rooms can seat any size group -- up to 600 theatre and 440 classroom. Most of these rooms are located in our two premier lodges, The Chateaux and The Lodges at Deer Valley. Also available are two day-lodges (the Snow Park Lodge and the Silver Lake Lodge), which offer a variety of meeting space. Services provided for your meeting include fax machine service and rental, Federal Express shipping, cellular phones, shuttles, secretarial services, and audio/visual support.

While visiting Deer Valley be sure to check out the Winter Sports Park, built for the 2002 Winter Olympics, which houses a bobsled run and ski jumps. And don’t forget, the options for year-round recreation in Park City are endless.
