Snowbird’s Mountain School offers a wide variety of instruction, from class lessons to women’s ski and snowboard camps. The Mountain School, with more than 200 professional instructors, offers all-day and by-the-hour private and group lessons. Also available are a number of specialized seminars, which are designed for the specific interests and desires of women, seniors, snowboarders, and experts.


CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Chickadee – Beginner, ages 3-4
These 90-minute sessions are like semi-private lessons at a reduced price. Sessions are offered daily at 9:15am, 11am, and 1:15pm. Meet at Camp Snowbird in the Cliff Lodge. Reservations are required.

Kinderbirds – Advanced Beginner, ages 4-5
This half-day or full-day program is designed to meet the needs of the more advanced youngsters, as well as those not yet ready for the full-day Mountain Adventure Program. The program is offered twice daily at 9:15am and 1:15pm. Reservations are required. Non-ski time supervision and lunch can be arranged through Camp Snowbird. Meet at Camp Snowbird in the Cliff Lodge.

Kinderboards – Advanced Beginner, ages 5-7
Similar to its cousin, Kinderboards is designed to address the needs of young people learning to snowboard for the first time or who are not yet ready for all-day classes on the intermediate side of the mountain.

Mountain Adventures – All Abilities, ages 6-15
An entire day of instruction and supervised lunch, with lessons taught by specialists who will help children discover all that Snowbird has to offer. Mountain Adventures takes place from 10am to 3:45pm daily. Meet in the Cottonwood Room. Full-day rates include lunch and supervision. Half-day afternoon students can make arrangements for lunch and supervision through camp Snowbird.

Wings for Teens
Similar to Mountain Adventures, this program is just for teens that not only shred, but also want to take on the challenges of the mountain with their peers. These full-day lessons are offered December - January, Presidents Week, and Spring Break weeks.


ADULT WORKSHOPS

Green for Go – Beginner
This beginner package includes a half-day lesson, discounted equipment rental, and free Chickadee lift ticket. Meet at the Chickadee meeting area.

Rhythm in Blues – Intermediate
This workshop is designed for the skier who wants to ski blue runs with more consistency, confidence and less effort. Meet at the Ski School Lane meeting area on the mountain.

Bumps and Diamonds – Advanced/Expert
Work on your technique in moguls and steeps. We’ll concentrate on form, precision, and control in challenging terrain. Learn how to “pick your line” and conquer new runs. Meet at the Ski School Lane meeting area on the mountain.

Mountain Experience – Experts Only
Snowbird’s experts-only program takes you to the best off-piste terrain in North America. This is much more than a ski lesson. Offered daily from 10am to 4pm. Meet on the snowbird Center Plaza Deck.

Private Lessons – All Abilities, all ages
Includes equipment analysis for ultimate performance -- available for alpine skiers, telemark skiers, snowboarders, and backcountry alpine tours. Private lessons meet on the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck. Advanced reservations are recommended—801-933-2170.

Powder Perfect Private Lessons
Learn to ski in deep powder conditions, spring snow and other unique conditions. Available for three hours or six hours at regular private lesson rates.



SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Women’s Seminars – Intermediate through Expert
A non-competitive seminar taught by women, for women. Each four-day session includes breakfast, coaching, ski fitness tips, equipment demos, video analysis and social events. Call Mountain School for camp dates at 801-933-2170.

Women’s Snowboard Camps – All Abilities
These three-day camps are designed and taught by women who will help you tame the mountain and achieve your personal riding goals. The camps feature coaching, video analysis, equipment and industry information and more. Call Mountain School for camp dates at 801-933-2170.

Silverwings – Advanced Intermediate through Expert
For skiers age 50 and over, Silverwings is led by Snowbird’s Ski Hall-of-Famer Junior Bounous. Call Mountain School for camp dates at 801-933-2170.

Junior’s Seniors – Intermediate through Expert, 62 years and older
Join Ski Hall-of-Famer and powder legend Junior Bounous for a fun and informative complimentary ski outing and continue to ski with Junior to find out his “Ski Tip of the Day.” Call Mountain School for dates at 801-933-2170.

Snowboard Steeps & Halfpipe Camps – Intermediate through Expert
Conquer chutes and ride the steeps with control in a four-day Steeps Camp, or experience the thrill of riding the vert while striving to boost above the lip in the three-day Half Pipe Camp. Visit www.steepcamps.com for more information.
